Job Description

SUMMARY:
Texas Public Radio is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and technically skilled Assistant Director of Programming and Production to oversee the creative and technical execution of programming and production operations while fostering a cohesive, high-quality broadcast environment. Based in San Antonio, this position oversees key functions including on-air sound, audio production, programming coordination, radio automation, traffic operations support, and on-air fundraising coaching. You'll partner with leadership to unify the station's on-air identity across Texas Public Radio's news and classical networks, strengthen audience engagement, and ensure consistent, high-quality broadcast execution aligned with organizational standards and mission-driven goals. In addition, this role co-manages radio automation systems, serves as a key backup for traffic operations, and provides hands-on technical and production leadership to support daily programming needs.
