The Commercial Overhead Door Estimator is responsible for providing customers with quotes and specifications for the installation of new garage doors, openers, and/or related components. Interacts with customers daily providing them information and recommendations about available equipment, service and options. He or she will provide knowledge of costs and benefits that support profitable business decisions and is responsible for closing sales according to company pricing standards. The Estimator will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset. They must also be thorough and apt in managing relationships with key people. Key Responsibilities Shows, promotes, and sells products or services using sales strategies and tactics, product demonstrations, and sales techniques. Serves as the primary point of contact for customers during the sales process regarding questions related to overhead doors, openers, and equipment. Provides accurate quotes to customers; follows up with customers regarding provided quotes to help ensure sales goals are met; closes sales by obtaining customer commitment. Ensures appropriate equipment orders are placed once the sale is closed. Measures the installation area and accurately records all materials and labor required to complete the installation. Provides proper paperwork (quotes, specification sheets, etc.) and ensures orders are completed in a timely manner. Follows up with customers as necessary to ensure work is completed to the customer's satisfaction; resolves any issues or problems. Promotes the company and develops new lines of business with contractors, property managers, condominium and homeowner associations, municipalities, and governmental agencies; uses memberships with local building associations to bring in new business. Stays informed of new products on the market and understands the features and benefits of the product the company carries as compared to the competition. Assists the technicians if problems or concerns arise at the time of the installation and/or service. Maintains a high level of customer service resulting in significant market penetration for commercial doors and operator products. Qualifications Minimum 5 years' experience in the commercial door industry and business operations Communication skills are key to increasing management's effectiveness with both management and peers. Leadership skills are pertinent to providing and fostering a growth mindset. Delegation's skills are crucial in identifying the best person (or people) for a particular task and act as a facilitator to motivate and direct the work Time management skills are important in prioritizing tasks to ensure that projects are completed by deadlines and streamlining processes to maximize productivity Negotiation and mediation skills are necessary in finding opportunities to resolve conflicts efficiently and favorably Decision-making skills are key to weighing costs and benefits of various options and determining the best course of action to achieve company goals Problem-solving skills are crucial to analyzing past and current performance and recommending objectives to improve productivity and profitability Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks Excellent written and verbal communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality, and well organized. Must possess a current valid driver's license. Compensation The base pay range for this role is $28 - $28 per hour.
