Job Description

Multi-Functional Junior Product Photographer / Photographer Assistant Join our dynamic team at Black Rock Galleries, an upscale estate liquidation and online auction company. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Multi-Functional Junior Product Photographer /Photograph Assistant who can do more than just take pictures. If you have a passion for product photography, an eye for detail, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want you on our team. The ideal candidate exhibits a passion for photography and possesses an interest or understanding of the unique aspects of our industry. This role has room to grow into a leadership role as Staff Product Photographer, for the right candidate. Job Summary As a Product Photographer's Assistant, you will assist the photographer to ensure our auction merchandise is accurately presented in the best possible light. You will helpt to create compelling product images that engage and attract our online audience. Responsibilities include a range of tasks such as:
Key Responsibilities:
Photography:
Assist in and learn to capture high-quality and visually appealing images to showcase lot details using Canon DSLR systems.
Lighting:
Set up and adjust studio lighting to ensure optimal product visibility and aesthetics.
On- and Off-Property Shoots:
Travel to on- site and off-site photo shoot locations in our operating region, primarily (but not limited to) Fairfield County and Westchester County.
Photo Management:
Learn to organize, catalog, and maintain a comprehensive database of product photos.
Web-Based Photo Uploading:
Assist in uploading edited images to our online platform; ensure correct tagging and categorization. Cross-train and Cross-Function in
Other Business Areas:
Foster a culture where there's no such thing as "it's not my job" and willingness to adapt to various tasks
Other Responsibilities:
Handling/moving of larger items for photography purposes Work collaboratively and professionally communicate with key stakeholders and team Train with and support team members, as needed Comply with company procedures and policies and preserve a safe and clean work environment. Always be an ambassador for the BRG brands. Other duties as business needs evolve. Requirements, Qualifications & Skills A passion for, familiarity with, or experience in estates and auctions Proven technical experience in photography, solid portfolio, and proficiency with Canon DSLR systems Willingness to learn and receive constructive criticism. Flexible schedule and willingness to travel to various locations for shoots. Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving larger items. Strong organizational, project management, and communications skills. Accepting of constructive criticism/ direction and training. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Polished and professional demeanor. Team-oriented mindset. Clean background check is required. Experience Expectations Minimum of three (3) years experience in photography or related fields. Demonstrated leadership and project management skills preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Compensation & Benefits This full-time salaried (exempt) position requires approximately 40 per week. In exchange for your talents, skills, and work, Black Rock Galleries offers a wage range of $18-$23 (commensurate with experience) in addition to employee benefits (see below).
