Job Description

Envoy TV is seeking a talented and driven Multi-Media Journalist (MMJ) to join our Washington, DC team. This role is responsible for identifying, capturing, editing, and delivering compelling video content for both broadcast and digital platforms. Working closely with Envoy TV's Political Director, the MMJ will cover political news, current events, interviews, field reporting, and breaking news stories. The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can independently manage all aspects of content creation—from shooting in the field to editing and publishing finished content. This position requires a self-starter who can react quickly to developing stories, work effectively under tight deadlines, and create content optimized for television, websites, YouTube, and social media platforms. Key Responsibilities
  • Shoot high-quality video content field environments using mobile production equipment.
  • Cover political events, press conferences, interviews, breaking news, and feature stories at The White House, Congress and throughout the Washington, DC area.
  • Edit video packages, segments, clips, and social content using Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Capture interviews, b-roll, standups, and live-event footage that support compelling storytelling.
  • Work closely with the Political Director and Head of News to identify story opportunities and execute coverage plans.
  • Produce content optimized for multiple platforms, including broadcast television, YouTube, Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, and other digital channels.
  • Write concise scripts, interview questions, headlines, and social copy as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of journalistic integrity, accuracy, fairness, and professionalism.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting aggressive deadlines.
  • Travel throughout the Washington, DC metro area as needed to cover events and breaking news. Qualifications - Required
  • 2+ years of experience in television news, digital journalism, video production, content creation, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience shooting and editing video content independently.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Strong understanding of current social media platforms, video formats, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Excellent storytelling, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends when news events warrant.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Currently based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Qualifications - Preferred
  • Experience covering politics, government, public affairs, or breaking news.
  • Experience producing content for both broadcast and digital audiences.
  • Familiarity with mobile journalism workflows, including iPhone-based production.
  • Experience operating professional camera, audio, and lighting equipment.
  • Basic graphic creation and social publishing experience. Key Success Factors

  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in field environments for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Washington, DC area on short notice.
