Full Job Description Primary Function:
The Junior Varsity Sideline and Competitive Cheer Coach is responsible for leading and developing the junior varsity cheerleading squad to support athletic events, primarily football games and cheer competitions. The coach fosters school spirit, promotes teamwork, ensures safety, and helps student-athletes build foundational cheerleading skills in alignment with school policies and athletic department guidelines.Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience, particularly at the high school or collegiate level. Strong knowledge of Cheer techniques Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes. Certification in first aid and CPR (preferred).Assigned Responsibilities:
Coach and supervise the JV cheer team during practices, games, and events. Teach basic/intermediate cheerleading skills, including cheers, chants, jumps, and stunts appropriate to the age and skill level. Promote good sportsmanship, positive team culture, and academic accountability. Collaborate with the Varsity Cheer Coach to ensure consistency across the program. Plan and conduct regular practices, including conditioning and safety training. Attend all scheduled JV football games as assigned. Maintain accurate attendance and injury records. Ensure all team members comply with school rules, academic eligibility, and athletic codes of conduct. Communicate clearly with student-athletes, parents, and school administration. Always maintain a safe and inclusive environment. Assist with cheer tryouts and team selections as needed.Directly Responsible To:
