Position Overview Philly Photo & Philm / Rival Sports Media is seeking an experienced Senior Photographer to oversee and execute all photography operations related to our events, schools, and sports contracts. This role leads our high-volume & event photography division, responsible for delivering exceptional portraits and a seamless experience for businesses, schools, athletic programs, & families. The Senior Photographer owns the entire photography workflow, from planning and coordinating shoots to lighting, composition, editing, managing storefront, and delivery. The position requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to produce consistent, high-quality images at scale with fast turnaround times. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of professional photography experience, particularly in school, sports, event and portrait photography, and thrives in fast-paced environments where organization, efficiency, and customer service are critical. Key ResponsibilitiesPhotography Leadership Lead and manage all school and sports photography operations for the company.
Capture high-quality images for:
School portraits Class photos Student and staff ID photos Sports media days Individual and team sports portraits Senior portraits Team and senior banners Yearbook images Ensure all photography meets brand standards and client expectations. Creative Direction & Image Quality Produce professional portraits and headshots with strong lighting, composition, and consistency. Maintain a polished visual style across all school and sports photography projects. Deliver fast, efficient photography workflows while maintaining image quality. Master studio and location lighting setups designed for high-volume production. Editing & Image Delivery Edit and process images efficiently for same-day or near-immediate turnaround when required. Ensure images are properly prepared for online store display and ordering systems. Maintain high standards for color correction, cropping, and presentation. Organize and manage image files for accurate delivery and archiving. Client & Customer Experience Serve as the primary photography contact for schools, athletic directors, coaches, and administrators. Communicate professionally with clients to coordinate schedules, logistics, and expectations. Handle customer questions or concerns with a high level of professionalism and service. Ensure every client receives a smooth, organized photography experience. Shoot Coordination & Operations Plan and coordinate all photography sessions with staff and clients. Prepare and manage all equipment, lighting, and necessary materials for each shoot. Lead and direct assistants or team members during photo days. Ensure efficient on-site workflow for large groups of students or athletes. Storefront & Ordering Systems Set up and manage the online storefront for client ordering. Ensure images are displayed correctly for easy ordering by families. Monitor orders and assist with resolving customer service issues. Yearbook Production Support Understand and work with the company's yearbook design system and vendor requirements. Ensure images meet yearbook submission specifications. Assist schools in organizing and preparing yearbook images when necessary. Additional Photography Services Capture additional photography assignments such as: Corporate headshots Event photography Promotional photography Maintain the same high standard of quality across all services. Qualifications Required Experience Minimum 10 years of professional photography experience Proven experience in event photography, school photography, sports photography, or high-volume portrait photography Technical Skills Advanced knowledge of portrait lighting and studio lighting setups Strong editing skills in professional editing software Experience managing large batches of images efficiently Understanding of online image galleries and ordering systems Professional Skills Exceptional organization and time management Strong communication and interpersonal skills Friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused personality Ability to problem-solve quickly during fast-paced photo days Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Other Requirements Ability to lift and transport photography equipment Reliable transportation for travel to schools and sports facilities Availability for weekday and occasional evening assignments About Philly Photo & Philm / Rival Sports Media Philly Photo & Philm and Rival Sports Media specialize in high-quality photography and media services for schools, sports organizations, and businesses.
