Immediately Job Description The High School Photography Teacher is responsible for developing and delivering engaging visual arts instruction focused on photography. This includes teaching technical camera skills, composition, digital editing, and visual storytelling, while fostering students' creativity and critical thinking. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver photography curriculum aligned with school and state standards Teach fundamentals such as: Camera operation (DSLR and/or mobile photography) Exposure, lighting, and composition Digital editing (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom) Darkroom techniques (if applicable) Encourage creative expression and development of individual artistic style Design and manage classroom projects, critiques, and portfolio development Evaluate student work and provide constructive feedback Maintain classroom equipment (cameras, computers, printers, studio lighting) Implement safe handling procedures for equipment and materials Organize student exhibitions or showcases of work Integrate cross-curricular themes such as history of photography or media literacy Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs Maintain accurate records of student progress and grades Communicate with parents/guardians and collaborate with colleagues
