Contract / Part-Time Job Overview First Choice Photography is seeking a skilled and reliable Action Sports Photographer to capture dynamic, high-quality images of athletes in motion. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports, a keen eye for detail, and the technical expertise required to produce outstanding images in fast-paced environments. This is an excellent opportunity for photographers who thrive on the excitement of live sporting events and enjoy creating memorable images for athletes and families. Key Responsibilities Capture high-quality action photographs of athletes during sporting events. Photograph a variety of sports including youth, school, recreational, and competitive athletics. Edit and process images to meet First Choice Photography's quality standards. Upload edited image files within 1-2 business days following each event . Maintain efficient file management and organization for all assigned events. Travel to event locations throughout Ohio and surrounding areas as needed. Work closely with coaches, athletes, event organizers, and First Choice Photography staff. Meet deadlines consistently while maintaining image quality and accuracy. Equipment Requirements Photographers must provide and maintain their own professional photography equipment , including: DSLR or Mirrorless Camera Body Telephoto Lens suitable for sports photography (70-200mm or equivalent recommended) Memory Cards Batteries and Chargers Computer capable of editing and uploading images Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, or comparable editing software Applicants should be fully comfortable operating their own equipment in varying weather and lighting conditions. Qualifications Proven experience as an action, sports, or event photographer. Strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to capture motion and peak action moments. Proficiency with professional camera equipment and action photography techniques. Experience editing photographs using Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel. Availability for evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays. Preferred Skills Experience photographing multiple sports. Strong understanding of lighting, composition, timing, and framing. Experience photographing youth, high school, or collegiate athletics. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining consistent image quality. Passion for sports and athletics. Compensation Compensation is based on event assignments and experience. Opportunities are available throughout the year with increased demand during school sports seasons.
