Job Description

SUMMARY:
Under the immediate supervision of the Director of Printing Services with collaboration from the Vice President for Development and Community Relations, the Photographer/Videographer is responsible for providing digital photographic services (still and video). The Photographer/Videographer must be able to work effectively in a team environment and serve in a creative role with a variety of departments/locations to support the community relations, marketing, public information and printing departments of the college; Help to maintain and uphold the college's brand through graphic standards guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide photography and video services including edits, tagging, renaming, and archiving digital images and videos in an easy-to-follow format for use within the institution's marketing and promotions efforts. Typical functions include Produce Event/Institutional marketing/recruitment videos and photos Provide digital media support for institutional marketing and promotions Provide institutional photography and video with all academic and co-curricular activities Scan images, photographs and photo editing Plan, film, and edit videos that could be used for a variety of projects Format Photos in Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Camera Raw, and Premier Pro according to specs for a variety of platforms Knowledge of manual features of a Nikon DSLR camera and studio lighting equipment Knowledge of audio recording equipment and software to meet current broadcast standards Identify photographs and provide for public info, media guides, publications, etc. Look-up, prepare/manipulate and print photographs Maintain archive and provide electronic files and records for use by various departments Assist with graphic design and stocking in the printing services department as needed Produce multi-media and video projects including promotional videos and other graphic support, which can be used in a variety of formats like internal websites, social media, emails and external broadcast news outlets that require high-definition footage Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area Maintain job manual for position with regular updates to describe processes when substitutions are needed Keep updated inventory list of equipment in the photo studio Perform all other duties necessary to accomplish the educational objective of the College and/or as assigned by the Vice President for Development and Community Relations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills as well as expertise to accomplish the above essential duties and responsibilities are required. The Photographer/Videographer must preserve confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information; use independent judgment and initiative in the planning, organization, and performance of responsible work; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess good computer skills that include, but not limited to: Adobe Suite Software including Photoshop and LightRoom, scanning, and Microsoft Office applications. The Photographer/Videographer should have skilled knowledge of the techniques in digital photography and photo manipulation; ability is required to operate and use manual features of digital cameras and Photoshop; graphic design/layout techniques, printing and graphic design skills are desirable. Time management is crucial. Creativity, team player, strong organizational skills, relationship management, good oral and written communication skills are essential. Must be able to work under pressure; meet flexible deadlines; set priorities and maintain professionalism when dealing with individuals. Weekend and evening work will be required with a flexible 40-hour work week schedule. Subject to satisfactory Fair Credit Reporting Act Disclosure which includes a criminal background check. EXPERIENCE
A minimum educational level of an associate's degree in a related field; or three years of digital photography and video experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods of time. In addition, must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
