Job Description

Pictures speak a thousand words. A good quality picture or video can tell you a complete story. If this passionate individual sounds like you, then we have your dream internship! The North Suburban YMCA is seeking an intern for the Marketing Department. You will gain valuable professional experience working in a non-profit environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
Capture YMCA Programs:
Attend various YMCA programs and events to capture high-quality video and photo content. Document the diverse activities, community engagement, and impactful moments that reflect the YMCA's mission.
Content Creation:
Collaborate with program coordinators and marketing manager to develop visually appealing content for promotional materials, social media, and the YMCA website. Ensure that the content aligns with the YMCA's values and resonates with the community.
Interviews and Testimonials:
Conduct interviews with program participants, staff, and volunteers to create compelling video testimonials. Edit and produce video content that showcases the positive impact of YMCA programs on individuals and communities.
Event Coverage:
Provide coverage of special events, fundraisers, and community initiatives organized by the YMCA. Capture moments that highlight the spirit of collaboration, diversity, and community involvement. Collaboration with
Staff:
Work closely with YMCA staff to understand their visual content needs and provide creative solutions. Collaborate with marketing team to ensure consistency in branding and messaging. Be able to lead a photoshoot or recording.
Editing and Post-Production:
Edit and enhance raw footage and images to create polished, professional videos and photos. Add graphics, captions, and other elements to enhance storytelling and engagement.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Enrolled in (as a Junior or senior) or a recent graduate of a relevant degree program (e.g., Film Production, Photography, Media Studies, etc.). Proficient in videography and photography techniques.(
Ex:
Rule of Thirds) Familiarity with camera equipment, lighting setups, and editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects). Strong storytelling skills and the ability to capture the essence of the YMCA's mission through visuals. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. A portfolio showcasing previous videography and photography work is highly desirable.
YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT OR BORROWED EQUIPMENT FROM YOUR SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION.
Ability to organize and prioritize / good time-management skills Patience and attention to detail, even on repetitive tasks. Ability to interact with staff, members and guest of the
