About Warden Publishing - Warden Publishing is a family-owned multimedia company serving Mid-Missouri since 1963. We publish six community newspapers, a sports magazine, and online platforms reaching nearly 60,000 people across four counties. Our newsroom is expanding into podcasts, livestreaming, and social media, while keeping local community reporting at the heart of what we do. Job Summary - We are hiring two experienced reporters/photographers to cover local governments, schools, community events, and breaking news. This is a fast-paced role where you'll contribute to both print and digital platforms, and your work will make an immediate impact in small-town communities. Responsibilities Report and write accurate stories on government, schools, features, and breaking news. Some evening meetings (school board, board of aldermen, etc.). Take photos to accompany stories. File Sunshine requests and use public records. Meet weekly deadlines and cover occasional evenings/weekends. Qualifications At least 1 year of reporting experience (college media experience counts). Degree in journalism, communications, English, or related field. Strong writing, interviewing, and AP Style knowledge. Photography skills preferred. Valid driver's license required. Adobe InDesign/InCopy experience a plus.
