Job Description
The Vermont Standard in beautiful Woodstock, VT is expanding its pool of freelance news photographers. We are now accepting applications from locally based photographers who have experience and a passion for telling local stories through pictures. Assignments may involve covering breaking news, local community events, or sports that take place on evenings or weekends. Flexibility and adhering to tight deadlines are a must. A journalism background is preferred, but it's not mandatory if you've truly got good camera skills and an interest in news that happens in the local communities we serve (a ten-town area). Assignments are made each week, and you'll be paid by the assignment. The Vermont Standard has been repeatedly named a top weekly newspaper in New England in recent years. This is an opportunity for both veteran news photographers and talented newcomers to work as much or as little as your schedule allows.
