This role involves operating professional audio equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring that all sound produced meets industry standards. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, a creative ear, and the ability to work efficiently in collaborative and fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Record, edit, mix, and master audio for music, film, podcasts, livestreams, commercials, and/or events. Operate digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or Adobe Audition. Set up, test, and maintain microphones, soundboards, amplifiers, and other audio equipment. Conduct sound checks and ensure audio quality before, during, and after recording sessions or events. Collaborate with producers, directors, artists, and other team members to achieve the desired sound. Troubleshoot audio issues quickly and efficiently. Manage and organize audio files, sessions, and equipment inventory. Apply sound design techniques, including effects processing, noise reduction, EQ, compression, and spatial audio. Stay updated on industry standards, audio technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Audio Engineer, Sound Technician, or similar role. Proficiency with professional audio equipment and DAWs (Preferebly ProTools). Strong understanding of acoustics, signal flow, and audio processing. Excellent attention to detail and a trained musical or technical ear. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Good communication and collaboration skills. Degree or certification in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Preferred Skills:
Experience with live sound mixing. Knowledge of Foley recording and post-production techniques. Familiarity with audio plugins, virtual instruments, and mixing/mastering tools. Ability to work with various media formats (multitrack, surround, broadcast, etc.). Background in music theory or sound design is a plus.
