Action News is looking for a Morning Show Producer to join our newsroom in Chico, California.
We're looking for someone who loves news, works well under deadline and wants to lead the charge in shaping our morning newscast each day. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in television news while working in a fast-paced, collaborative newsroom covering Northern California.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Produce and help execute our morning newscasts
Write clear, accurate and conversational broadcast copy
Build rundowns and make editorial decisions about story placement and pacing
Monitor breaking news and make quick changes when news develops
Work closely with your anchor and reporter, director and newsroom managers
Findpelling local, state and national stories for our viewers
Coordinate live shots, graphics, video and other elements of the newscast
ensure stories are accurate, fair and properly sourced
Contribute story ideas and help identify the biggest stories of the day
Assist with digital and social coverage when needed
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate is curious, dependable and able to stay calm when the news changes quickly. Strong writing and news judgment are especially important.
Previous newsroom or producing experience is a plus, but we're also interested in candidates with journalism,munications, broadcasting or related experience who are ready to grow.
You should befortable working early-morning hours and collaborating with a team under daily deadlines.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$19.00 per hour
