ABOUT THE SHOW

Sky Patrol is a character-driven docuseries for the Discovery Channel following the aviation, ground, and marine units of law enforcement agencies across four Florida counties. Built around real, current incidents — captured through live ride-along coverage during active patrol and the agencies' own FLIR helicopter footage, with additional field sequences produced alongside the officers involved — it's a show about real people doing extraordinary things. Produced by V1 Productions, the aviation-specialist company behind Amazon's Straight and Level.

THE ROLE

The Production Manager is the operational lead of the show. You own the budget, the schedule, crew and equipment logistics, insurance, and the agency agreements that govern access in each county — and you keep the mobile, multi-county model running as production rolls out from the Palm Beach headquarters into the satellite counties one at a time. If it has to do with making the day happen safely, on time, and on budget, it runs through you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own and manage the production budget — track actuals against plan, forecast, flag variances, and control cost across all four counties.
• Build and maintain the master schedule, including the phased county-by-county rollout (heavy at Palm Beach first, then Volusia, Collier, and Hillsborough).
• Lead crew logistics: hiring coordination, deal memos, start paperwork, travel, and lodging for the mobile field units.
• Manage equipment, vendors, rentals, and purchases; oversee gear movement between counties as units relocate.
• Own insurance and compliance — certificates of insurance, workers' comp, and coordination with the risk-management framework (SO3 602) and aviation safety protocols.
• Administer the agency access agreements and contract contingencies that govern filming with each law enforcement agency; track approvals and Discovery deliverable obligations.
• Coordinate the satellite-unit deployments with the Production Coordinator and keep HQ in sync with the field.
• Partner with the showrunner and EIC on priorities, and escalate risks and decisions with clear options.

REQUIRED

• 5+ years production managing unscripted, documentary, or reality television, including multi-location or field-heavy shows.
• Proven budget ownership — building, tracking, and reconciling production budgets and cost reports.
• Strong scheduling and logistics command across many simultaneous moving parts and remote locations.
• Working knowledge of production insurance, deal memos, releases, and standard network paperwork and deliverables.
• Calm, organized, and decisive under pressure; a natural coordinator who keeps crews and vendors aligned.
• Valid driver's license; able to pass an agency background check; willing to be based in / travel across the four Florida counties for run of show.

PREFERRED

• Experience on aviation, law enforcement, first-responder, or other high-logistics, safety-sensitive productions.
• Familiarity with Discovery / Warner Bros. Discovery deliverable and compliance requirements.
• Experience standing up productions across multiple locations or a phased, roving footprint.
• Familiarity with formal risk-management frameworks (e.

g., ISO 31000-based assessments) and aviation / marine safety considerations.
