Video Broadcasting Specialist I Tulane University - 4.0 New Orleans, LA Job Details Full-time 11 hours ago Qualifications Live event projects Broadcast audio projects Live event AV production projects Operational management Video production project leadership Live event videography Control room operations Broadcast cameras Television broadcast editing Production management Live production performance Broadcast studio equipment operation Crew management General management Full Job Description The Assistant Director of Video & Broadcasting (Producer) reports to the Assistant Athletic Director of Video & Broadcasting and will assist him/her in the day-to-day video operations and broadcasting content for the Tulane Athletics Department.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree One year sports video production, videography and editing experience including in-game/in-event setup and operation OR High School Diploma or Equivalent 7 years' sports video production, videography and editing experience including in-game/in-event setup and operation
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Competencies:
Working knowledge and experience working within a broadcast crew in various roles such as technical directing, directing, producing, graphics, replay operation, camera operation, audio, etc. An understanding of production control room equipment. Equipment knowledge includes switchers, instant replay, graphic systems, clip servers, audio mixers, audio communication systems, streaming services and cameras. Ability to interact effectively with coaches, administrators, student athletes, media and vendors. The ability to provide operational assistance and instruction to freelance crew, Athletics staff and student workers. Must have strong organizational, management and leadership skills. Proven ability to multi-task effectively, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines. Must have outstanding work ethic and strict attention to detail. Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to gather storylines and statistical highlights for graphic creation by collaborating with on-air talent, coaching staffs and Tulane Strategic Communications department to enhance each broadcast. Experience with control room equipment, specifically but not limited to Ross Carbonite switcher, Ross Xpression graphics, Evertz Dreamcatcher replay systems, Yamaha audio consoles, DANTE audio connections as well as Stream Deck and Companion software. Familiarity with Daktronics video displays & software. Experience with ESPN broadcast elements (graphics packages, animation elements). Proficiency with Mac systems and using Adobe Creative Suite. (Photoshop, After Effects Premiere) Familiarity with the ESPN broadcasting standard. Knowledge of industry-standard and growing trends in terms of equipment and infrastructure. Understanding of
NCAA & FCC
broadcasting rules. Thorough knowledge of American Conference rules and regulations.
NCAA Related:
Ensure that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Attend and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletics Department's efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seek interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Report potential rules violations immediately. Complete required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitor all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations. Coordinates the activities of the athletics video & broadcasting staff for the production of live and on-demand content, which includes but is not limited to: (65%) Work within the broadcast team to produce live, multi-camera broadcast of athletics contests, ensuring all broadcast fulfill conference and ESPN production standards & regulations. Find game narratives, translate statistical insights and human interest stories into graphics and packages to enhance broadcasts. Help assist with management of gameday freelance and student staff. Handle live and/or on-demand video coverage of various events such as press conferences, announcements and special events. Assist with the setup, in-game direction and upkeep of all video boards and broadcasting equipment at athletics facilities. Assist with any issues with the in-game stream/broadcast and video boards in a timely fashion. Help train freelance and student crew members to serve as camera operators and/or other roles on the production staff for game coverage and other special events. Work collaboratively with other external affairs staff on the creation and timing of video board content to be displayed during games and other special events. Manage relationships with external broadcast partners such as ESPN in the preparation and production of live broadcasts and related on-demand content. 2. Assist in creating content to be used during game broadcasts, for video boards and special events. This includes but not limited to: (15%) Produce, coordinate and edit featured content for Tulane athletics broadcasts, such as halftime features, coaches' interviews, player profiles, etc. Produce in-game videos and graphics for in-venue video boards. Assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Video & Broadcasting to maintain overall look and design of the video displays at home athletics venues. Work collaboratively with other external staff, such as marketing staff on the creation and timing of video board & broadcasting content to be displayed during games and other special events. 3. Maintain Video & Broadcast video archives, ensuring that seasonal and historical footage is properly stored and organized. (10%) 4. Assist the Creative department staff with the creation of graphics and creative videos for the athletics department. This includes but is not limited to (5%): Creating content for Tulane's social media accounts and various external channels. Creating hype videos and highlights for Tulane teams and staff for various internal and external uses. Video coverage of teams during athletic events, practices or other special events. Helping with recruiting photo and video shoots. 5. Performs other duties as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.
