Community Media Producer (Part Time)

Location:

Medway, MA This position may transition to a full-time role based on organizational needs. Medway Cable Access is a local non-profit PEG channel for the town of Medway. MCA is seeking a motivated Education and Community Access Producer for a creative role in local storytelling and an interest in municipal programming. This is an in-person position.

All applications should be submitted with a current resume and brief cover letter as well as a portfolio with samples of short edited projects The candidate should be skilled in filming and editing using Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro to quickly turn around highly produced videos to be shared on Medway Cable Access and our social media channels and website

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to communicate effectively and to maintain good working relationships with town administrators and members of the general public in order to produce programs that drive awareness about the community Interest in production of municipal meetings and town events with flexible availability for occasional evening coverage Supports the High School's video production teacher by assisting with after school video club, and guides students (Middle through High School) in pre-production, production, and post-production of digital stories Familiarity with Cablecast or Castus System to upload programming and for weekly scheduling responsibilities Assist with various aspects of MCA's field and studio productions including directing, switching, studio productions, lighting, and basic video editing Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license (some travel to and from shooting locations required) Other duties as assigned including: Teach video production workshops to community volunteers and students Maintain and oversee equipment usage

Minimum Qualifications:

A college degree in communications, media production, or a related field is preferred. Experience in public/government access television is desired. Job Details Part-time 15-20

Hours/week Pay:

$24.00 - $27.00 per hour commensurate with experience

Schedule:

Weekdays, some evenings and occasional weekends
