This producer will be responsible for producing our hour-long 10 p.m. newscast and 35-minute 11 p.m. newscast, helping lead our evening coverage with urgency, strong editorial judgment, and compelling storytelling. Whether you're an aspiring producer looking to launch your career or an experienced journalist ready for your next challenge, this is an opportunity to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative newsroom that values innovation and leadership. We're looking for someone who isn't satisfied with simply stacking a rundown. We want a producer who constantly asks, "How can we make this better?" Someone who thrives under deadlines, embraces digital journalism, and is passionate about delivering meaningful local news. Responsibilities Produce and write the station's nightly 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts. Build accurate, compelling, and visually engaging rundowns. Write clear, conversational copy for broadcast. Edit video using Adobe Premiere . Collaborate with reporters, anchors, meteorologists, photographers, and directors to execute high-quality newscasts. Communicate effectively with newsroom managers throughout each shift. Make strong editorial decisions during breaking news and severe weather coverage. Keep broadcasts updated throughout the evening with the latest developments. Ensure accuracy, fairness, and journalistic integrity in every story. Publish content to the station website and social media platforms, embracing a true digital-first workflow. Find creative ways to make every newscast fresh, relevant, and engaging for viewers. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills. Excellent news judgment and ethical decision-making. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Positive attitude with a willingness to collaborate across departments. Self-starter who takes initiative and works independently. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail. Eagerness to learn, grow, and embrace constructive feedback. Passion for local journalism and serving the community. Preferred Experience producing television newscasts. Knowledge of Adobe Premiere . Familiarity with SAGA , Mimir , or similar newsroom systems. Experience posting content to digital and social media platforms. Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
