KOCB/KOKH
has an immediate opening for a Sports Producer to oversee sports content for our live daily sports show focusing on the Oklahoma region while ensuring overall fairness, balance, and accuracy. The ideal candidate will produce the daily sports show and oversee production of special programming. You will work closely with the sports team on daily selection and coverage. Some additional responsibilities of our Producer will include: Oversee the daily sports show to ensure we are serving our local communities by sharing relevant information to alert, protect and empower our audiences Supervise reporters, as well as review scripts and provide feedback to encourage powerful storytelling Manage sports content and handle breaking sports situations to empower and grow our audiences Collaborate with the Sports Director and other station leaders to create special programming What skills do you need to be successful in our role? Proven track record of creating compelling and engaging stories across multiple platforms Ability to perform well under pressure, experience managing, breaking sports coverage and meeting strict deadlines Ability to identify problems and provide solutions A strong commitment to journalistic standards and ethics Extraordinary people skills with an emphasis on coaching and motivating Strong understanding of how to drive digital traffic Minimum of two years of experience producing television sports, news, or equivalent programming A college degree in Journalism or a related field is preferred Strong writing skills and a proven track record for getting results on initiatives
