Position Summary McCormick Taylor's internship program is designed to ensure our interns gain as much real‐world experience as possible. As a professional services firm, the primary functions of the marketing team are to conduct research, lead and support client and business development activities throughout the firm, partner with technical staff to develop compelling proposals and presentations to win new work, and attract clients and top talent through a range of promotional marketing and communication activities including video production. Qualifications We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are eager learn about marketing in the Architectural / Engineering / Construction (A/E/C) industry and contribute to the success of our firm. Qualified candidates will have strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask and take initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an innate curiosity about the work that we do and the impact it has on the world around us. The candidate selected for this position will help to produce, edit, and deliver final versions of videos for distribution. Below is a list of required skills:
  • Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro is preferred).
  • Basic understanding of motion graphics and animation (Adobe After Effects is preferred).
  • Strong storytelling and creative editing skills.
  • Knowledge of color correction and audio enhancement techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for learning new skills and working collaboratively with others. Job Requirements Job Requirements The responsibilities of the video production marketing intern may include, but are not limited to the following activities, which would be guided by the intern's manager and senior video production team members:
  • Assist with pre-production activities to develop video concepts and shot lists.
  • Collaborate on scriptwriting and storyboarding.
  • Assist with video production tasks within our office(s) and local project sites.
  • Edit footage, add transitions, effects, and subtitles to enhance video quality.
  • Optimize video content for social media platforms and marketing campaigns.
  • Help to maintain an organized archive of video content and assets.
We give our interns exposure to a variety of tasks to build a foundational understanding of the mix of activities that go into successfully marketing a professional services firm. Along the way, we aim to provide opportunities to learn more about the technical aspects of the work McCormick Taylor does. By the end of the internship, the intern will have a better understanding of what it takes to win in the competitive landscape of the AEC industry, and the important role marketing plays in contributing to a firm's success.
