Communications & Digital Associate
THE POSITION
The Pennsylvania Democratic Party is looking for a flexible, hardworking, highly motivated staffer to join their communications team as a Communications & Digital Associate. This position will support a wide range of work as the PA Dems work to win races up and down the ballot across Pennsylvania in the crucial 2026 midterms. This critical position will support the communications team by drafting various party materials, including social media copy, interview and event memos, and newsletter copy. This role will also include monitoring for media coverage, daily clip duties, staffing events, and supporting surrogate communications as needed.

The position is based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and would terminate at the end of the 2026 election cycle.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Manage the media monitoring processes for the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, including sending daily news clips and monitoring breaking news.

Draft social media copy across platforms, and monitor for breaking social moments that require rapid response, coordinating with senior staff on execution.

Develop social media content for State Party leadership as neededDevelop and execute a strategy to ensure senior staff is informed of breaking news in a streamlined and organized manner in order to develop an effective rapid response process.

Manage press logistics including organizing press lists, drafting and distributing press releases, advisories, and statements, and conducting station calls. Develop graphics and templates Work with the Communications Director and additional members of staff as needed to organize internal meetings, keep records, and prepare memos. Provide support at media interviews, press conferences, and surrogate communications events.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Prior experience years working in political communicationsExperience working well in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team environment and willingness to work sometimes unpredictable hours. Close attention to detail and strong writing skills.
