Job Description

Senior Executive Producer KEPR-TV is looking for a Morning Executive Producer to help lead daily newsroom execution across all platforms. This person will be a hands-on newsroom leader, helping oversee the morning shift, and carrying out the News Director's vision, ensuring high-quality, and impactful content on both linear and digital platforms. They will also be hands-on, helping produce the morning newscast daily.
What You'll Do:
Oversee editorial and logistical planning of the morning weekday newscasts Work with the producers and anchors to build show rundowns, breaking news coverage, and live elements - ensuring there is editorial accuracy, balance, and impact. Supervise and mentor young journalists in the newsroom Coordinate content flow, script approval, and pre-show prep Ensure consistent tone, energy, and viewer focus across all hours of the morning Have an understanding of digital platforms and writing AP style to lead coverage on website and social platforms Communicate effectively to ensure complete shift handoffs Stay plugged into the social, cultural, and political issues shaping the region Foster a collaborative, motivated, and accountable team culture
What You'll Bring:
At least 2 years of experience in television news, time in a newsroom leadership role is a plus Excellent news judgement and understanding of viewer habits and expectations on all platforms Strong editorial judgment, excellent writing skills, and a deep understanding of how to showcase content visually. Calm under pressure, clear in communication, and fast on your feet. Knowledge of newsroom systems like iNews and Avid Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field preferred but equal experience will be considered A passion for news and a drive to win. The base salary compensation range for this role is $70K to $80K per year. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, vacation time, and floating holidays.
