Job Description
Production ManagerDescriptionPremier Pump & Power is a fast-moving, engineered-to-order manufacturer of industrial pump systems used in demanding applications across North America. We dont operate like a slow, bureaucratic OEMwe move fast, solve real problems, and expect our leaders to take ownership.
The Production Manager is responsible for leading all shop floor operations including fabrication, assembly, and materials flow. This role ensures production schedules are met safely, efficiently, and with high quality, while driving continuous improvement across processes, people, and systems.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong coordination across Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality to deliver made-to-order pump packages on time and on budget.
ResponsibilitiesLead daily operations across:
Fabrication (forming, welding, paint/powder coat)Assembly (pre-assembly, sub-assembly, final assembly)Materials (receiving, warehousing, kitting, shipping)Execute production schedules in alignment with MRP system outputsEnsure on-time delivery and throughput targets are consistently metIdentify and remove bottlenecks across the production flowLead, coach, and develop supervisors and production personnelDrive accountability for safety, quality, and productivity metricsBuild a high-performance culture focused on ownership and executionSupport hiring, onboarding, and workforce planningImplement Lean manufacturing principles (5S, standard work, visual management)Reduce waste, rework, and cycle time across operationsPartner with Engineering to improve manufacturability and design efficiencyDrive root cause analysis and corrective actionsEnsure adherence to quality standards and inspection requirementsPartner with Quality Assurance and MRB to resolve non-conformancesMaintain a safe working environment and enforce safety policiesQualificationsRequired510+ years of experience in manufacturing operations 5+ years in a leadership role (Production Manager, Supervisor, etc.) Experience in metal fabrication and/or mechanical assembly environments Strong understanding of MRP systems and production scheduling Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance High ownership mindsetyou dont wait for direction, you solve problems Ability to operate in a fast-paced, execution-focused environmentPreferredExperience with engineered-to-order or custom manufacturing Background in pump systems, rotating equipment, or industrial equipment Lean / Six Sigma experience Familiarity with welding, machining, and fabrication processes Employment will be conditioned upon passing a drug screen and background check.

Employees are frequently required to use hands for manual dexterity, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally required to sit, kneel, stoop, or crouch. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception are strictly required for safely operating machinery and navigating a shop floor with active mobile equipment. To ensure immediate safety, employees must be able to recognize and respond to auditory warnings, alarms, and forklift horns. While performing the responsibilities of this job, employees must be able to frequently communicate with others and exchange accurate information.
While working in the factory, performing inspections, and troubleshooting equipment, employees will regularly work near moving mechanical parts and active forklifts. Employees may be required to work under varying weather conditions and tolerate moderate to loud noise levels. The use of standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is strictly required at all times in designated areas.
