Job Description

Genco Industries is seeking a 1st shift Production Manager! We're looking for a friendly but firm, proactive, solution focused leader to meet both short and long-term production objectives. This leader will supervise low-high production operations in a fast-paced non-union manufacturing environment. Responsible for the direct supervision of hourly associates in multiple manufacturing departments to ensure the most efficient and economical performance of the operations in accordance with quality standards and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
People Management:
Lead hourly shift employees in high mix, medium volume environment to meet both short and long-term production objectives. Responsible for conducting performance reviews, discussing attendance and recommending wage adjustments, promotions, etc. Develop and implement training programs for new and existing employees to ensure flexible workforce. Responsible for understanding and enforcing company policies and procedures. Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to
General Manager Production Plan Fulfillment:
Utilizes operational metrics and an on the floor presence approach to maintain close surveillance over the manufacturing operations to assure scheduled workflow, utilization of manpower skills, machines, tooling methods and machine repairs. Audit labor and machine reporting regularly for accuracy and efficiency to standard production methods, rates and schedules.
Safety:
Ensures compliance with safety regulations, Genco policies, and labor contract provisions and administers disciplinary action when necessary. Ensures the adherence to all applicable safety procedures, proper utilization of safety equipment, housekeeping methods, and is on alert for the development of hazardous conditions.
Collaboration:
Communicates daily with appropriate managers and peer group on overall operating conditions and make recommendations to improve procedures, methods, and techniques. Communicate regularly with direct reports to provide goals and objective of the operations.
Process Improvement:
Helps develop and implement operational solutions utilizing lean manufacturing methods in a team environment. Able to identify, investigate, and analyze problems related to material, quality, equipment, methods, tools, etch and initiate corrective action to resolve such problems in a timely and efficient manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the production floor. Also directly supervises approximately 25 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
3+ years of Manufacturing Supervisory/Management experience required Three to Five years' experience working in electrical assembly, preferred ERP Experience, Epicor/Kinetic preferred
