Duties Transcribe spoken content during live broadcasts using specialized CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) software and tools Ensure captions are accurate, timely, and formatted according to industry standards such as the Chicago Manual of Style and transcription formatting guidelines Proofread and edit captions in real-time to maintain clarity, correctness, and consistency Collaborate with broadcast teams to understand content flow and technical requirements for seamless captioning Utilize Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and content editing purposes Maintain high standards of accuracy by proofreading transcripts and verifying legal terminology when necessary Adapt to different content types, including legal proceedings, educational sessions, or corporate events, often requiring foreign language proficiency or translation skills Skills Proficiency in transcription software and word processing tools to produce precise captions efficiently Strong typing skills with high speed and accuracy for real-time transcription Excellent command of English language grammar, punctuation, and transcription formatting standards Experience with audio transcription and content editing to refine caption quality on the fly Knowledge of legal terminology and specialized vocabulary relevant to various industries Ability to proofread meticulously while working under tight time constraints during live events Familiarity with foreign languages and translation techniques is a plus for multilingual captioning needs Exceptional writing skills combined with attention to detail to ensure caption clarity and professionalism Embark on a rewarding journey where your linguistic talents make information accessible to all.
