This role combines the excitement of on-camera journalism with the hands-on experience of field reporting, delivering timely news coverage that informs and engages our diverse audience. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for storytelling, exceptional communication skills, and a keen eye for detail, all while maintaining journalistic integrity and accuracy. Join our team to be at the forefront of breaking news, investigative stories, and community events, inspiring viewers with your professionalism and enthusiasm. This role is based in Washington, D.C. and requires nationwide travel. Responsibilities Serve as a fill-in on-air news anchor, delivering news stories with clarity, confidence, and engaging presentation style Speak independently on-air for extended periods of time. RSBN does 1-2 hour pre-shows regularly. Conduct in-depth research and fact-checking to ensure accuracy and credibility of all news content Report live from various locations as a field reporter, capturing footage and conducting interviews that add depth to stories Produce high-quality video segments through videography, photography, editing, and video production techniques Write compelling scripts, copywriting content for broadcasts, social media posts, and digital platforms Manage social media channels by posting updates, engaging with viewers, and promoting upcoming stories or events Collaborate with producers, editors, and other team members to develop story ideas and ensure seamless coverage across all media outlets Requirements Proven experience in journalism or broadcast media with strong on-camera presence Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse audiences Proficiency in AP style (Associated Press style) for writing and editing news content Must be located in Washington, DC and willing to travel nationwide Strong research skills coupled with meticulous fact-checking and proofreading abilities Knowledge of social media management tools to amplify coverage and engage viewers online Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards Exceptional copy editing skills to refine scripts and written content for clarity and impactJoin us as a vital storyteller who informs communities with integrity while embracing the fast-paced world of broadcast journalism.
