The Post-Searchlight | Bainbridge, Georgia The Post-Searchlight is seeking a full-time reporter to cover both community news and local sports in Bainbridge and Decatur County. Immediate What You'll Do Write 2-3 bylined stories each day. Take photos and shoot video to accompany stories. Cover local high school and recreational sports throughout the year. Report on crime, courts, local government, business, education, and other community news. Contribute to magazines and special publications. Work closely with the editor to develop story ideas and provide timely coverage. Attend occasional evening meetings, sporting events, and holiday assignments as needed. What We're Looking For At least one year of journalism experience preferred. Strong writing and interviewing skills. Familiarity with AP Style preferred. Experience with WordPress or other content management systems preferred. Knowledge of Facebook and other social media platforms. Photography, videography, and basic photo/video editing skills. Self-motivated, dependable, and able to meet deadlines. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a good driving record. Must live in or be willing to relocate or commute to the Bainbridge area before starting. A genuine passion for community journalism and small-town Southern life.
