Reporters WantedThe News Tribune is looking forenergetic and motivated reporters and multimedia journalists to help tell thestories that matter to our communities.

We currently have opportunitiesacross a variety of beats, including local government, education, business,community news, features, and breaking news. If you have a preferred beat or aparticular area of interest, please let us know. With multiple newsroomopenings, we may be able to tailor the position to your experience, interests,and strengths.

The ideal candidate will have strongwriting and interviewing skills, sound news judgment, and the ability to workindependently while meeting deadlines. Experience with photography, video,social media, or other forms of digital storytelling is preferred. We arelooking for someone who is curious, dependable, community-minded, andpassionate about local journalism.

Responsibilities include: Reporting and writing accurate, engaging news and feature stories Covering assignments within one or more available beats Developing original story ideas and cultivating community sources Producing content for print, online, and social media platforms Taking photographs and creating multimedia content as needed Responding to breaking news and meeting newsroom deadlines Working closely with editors and other newsroom staff to provide meaningful local coverageSome evening and weekend assignmentswill be required.

A valid driver's license, reliabletransportation, and proof of automobile insurance are required. The positioninvolves travel throughout the coverage area and attendance at meetings,events, and breaking-news assignments in varying weather conditions.
