Sports Reporter (Sports/General Assignment)

Position Summary:
The Lake County Leader, an award-winning weekly newspaper, is seeking a versatile reporter to cover local high school sports and contribute to general assignment and feature reporting across Lake County and the Flathead Reservation.
Key Responsibilities:
Cover and photograph prep sports events across all high school seasons Develop enterprise stories and engaging feature content Assist with general news and feature reporting as needed Plan weekly sports coverage to ensure balanced representation of area teams Produce accurate, fact-based reporting under deadline pressure Participate in weekly page production Contribute content through multi-media platforms Must be willing to learn and work within different computer programs. Must be able to multi-task, be detail oriented, have excellent customer service, and work as part of a small team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field (or equivalent experience) Strong interest in community journalism and local sports coverage Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and work collaboratively
