Job Description

Reporter — The Rocky Mount Telegram Love a good story? We're hiring a reporter to cover the people, government and events that shape our community in Nash and Edgecombe counties — and we are looking for someone who can produce a variety of compelling stories for the web and for print. The ideal candidate is collaborative, tech savvy and enthusiastic about covering community news and taking photos. What you'll do: Cover and write daily deadline-driven stories on everything from county commissioner meetings to human interest features. Shoot photos and videos to bring your stories to life. Build real relationships with sources and the community. Take feedback well and work as part of a team.
Essential skills:
Strong news writing skills and familiarity with AP style. Comfort with using a camera, social media and web publishing tools. Reliable transportation and a flexible, can-do attitude.
