Local Daily Media is seeking a daily news reporter/journalist for our local news publication, Port City Daily (PCD). We are seeking a motivated candidate who is passionate about journalism, thrives in a fast- paced environment, and is able to adapt in the ever-changing world of digital production.

Duties:

Conduct research and interviews Write multiple news articles/features daily Build professional relationships within the communities that we serve Shoot photographs and/or videos to accompany written pieces Provide content for presentation on a variety of digital platforms (WordPress, social media, etc.) Work independently to meet deadlines and exceed expectations Maintain regular communication with the editor regarding creative planning and performance Attend meetings Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

An associate's degree or comparable experience Strong collaborative and communication skills Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills A commitment to digital and multimedia storytelling An organized self-starter who works well independently Seek story ideas and work on multiple projects at once Meet measurable goals as set forth by editor Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and within flexible hours that may include nights, holidays and weekends Candidates will be asked to submit a portfolio of work upon request.
