Media Monitor/Tracker Job Description:

The Alaska Democratic Party is seeking a Media Monitor/Tracker to join the team through the 2026 election cycle. This is a key research role responsible for monitoring Republican candidates for governor across TV, radio, social media, and in person on a day-to-day basis. We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works well under deadline pressure, and is passionate about Democratic politics. The ideal candidate brings both strong organizational habits and the ability to work independently, while staying tightly coordinated with research and communications staff. Responsibilities

• Track opponents' TV, radio, and social media appearances daily; capture, flag, and catalogue key content for use by the research and communications teams.
• Comprehensively track Republican gubernatorial candidates' schedules; attend public events in the Anchorage Bowl to record candidates and capture them on the record, or recruit and coordinate volunteers to do so.
• Maintain an up-to-date transcript book aggregating tracking reports, TV transcripts, radio appearances, and social media videos in one organized location.
• Build and maintain a library of key audio and visual clips for top targets, including backward-looking archival projects covering all previously available audio and visual footage.
• Conduct rapid response tracking of paid media and breaking news.
• Assist with additional research department tasks as needed.
• Work closely with members of the research and communications teams to identify opportunities to drive the Alaska Democratic Party's narrative. • Discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Coachable and eager to develop research and political skills.
• A can-do attitude and team-first mentality.
• Registered Democrat.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable mode of transportation within the Anchorage Bowl. Logistics & Working Conditions
• Generally Monday through Friday; evening and weekend hours required.
• Extended hours during election season and major party events.
• In person tracking events are limited to the Anchorage Bowl.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary for this role is $5,500 per month ($66,000 annualized). The final date of employment will be 11/15/2026. This position will come with benefits, including dental, vision and health insurance, 100% covered by the Alaska Democratic Party. Benefits become active on your first day of employment. Employees can add partners and dependents to health benefits but are responsible for covering the additional cost.
