Job Description

CBS Austin, is looking for an experienced weekend sports anchor and reporter. Our city is home to the Texas Longhorns, Austin FC, and Circuit of the Americas. The ideal candidate is authentic, innovative, and will bring new ideas to how we cover sports. Qualified candidates must share our vision of producing and reporting content on all platforms that stand out as being informative and entertaining for fans and non-fans alike. You must be someone who understands and embraces a 'digital first' reporting strategy and has a passion for telling impactful stories. The ideal candidate can work independently and as part of a team in a high energy, creative, and collaborative environment on deadline. Strong writing, photography, and nonlinear editing skills are a must. This position requires shooting and editing stories. Demonstrated knowledge of how to position great content on air and on digital platforms is required. The Sports Anchor/Reporter must be willing to adjust schedule as needed based on the needs of the content center.
Requirements:
Strong shooting, writing & video editing ability At least 2 years of professional on camera experience Bachelor's degree in journalism or related subject preferred Use social media to build a dedicated audience A demonstrated ability to separate from the pack and find original approaches to storytelling
Skills:
