Do you love chasing news, asking tough questions and telling stories that matter most to the community? The Waukesha Freeman is looking for a full-time reporter ready to dive into Waukesha County news and deliver smart, compelling journalism every day. This is a multi-media reporter role for someone who's curious, energetic and eager to be out in the community. You'll pitch original story ideas, build strong local sources, cover breaking news, take photos and videos, and tell stories that inform and engage readers across print, digital, and social platforms. What you'll do: Report and write timely, accurate, and engaging stories for print and online Generate original story ideas and chase them down Tell stories through multiple formats. In addition to writing compelling stories, you'll be generating photos and videos. Cover breaking news, local government and school meetings, and community events Build and maintain strong relationships with community sources Use social media to report, promote stories, and connect with readers Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom located in downtown Waukesha, Wisconsin.

What we are looking for:

News reporting or writing experience (professional or strong clips) Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field Sharp writing, reporting, and interviewing skills Solid social media skills Ability to produce engaging photos and videos Must live in or be willing to relocate to southeastern Wisconsin If you are passionate about local journalism and ready to make an impact in a vibrant community, we want to hear from you!
