A Set or Exhibit Designer designs display booths or exhibits for museums, galleries or trade shows. Develops drawings and plans to accommodate the specific space, lighting and temperature requirements of materials to be exhibited; builds or supervises building of exhibits. Designs stage sets and scenery for performances, primarily for live theater performances, or sets for filmed performances or for events such as press conferences. Works with directors and producers to plan props and materials needed for a show.

Job Description

Bluerider ART is seeking a dynamic and personable Gallery & Sales Support Assistant to join our LA team. This role requires someone with a natural flair for sales and client engagement, who can also support daily gallery operations and exhibition activities. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator, passionate about contemporary art, and driven to connect collectors and visitors with exceptional artworks.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet all visitors with warmth and professionalism, creating an inviting atmosphere that encourages dialogue and discovery.
  • Lead sales conversations with potential buyers—understanding their interests, educating them about artworks, and guiding them through the purchasing process.
  • Actively pursue sales opportunities by building relationships with new and existing collectors.
  • Manage client follow-ups, and track sales activity.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of current exhibitions, artists, and available works in order to effectively communicate the gallery's offerings.
  • Support day-to-day gallery operations, including handling artwork with care during installation and take-down.
  • Coordinate and assist with gallery events, such as private views and tours, artist talks, and client receptions.
  • Draft clear and engaging exhibition content and sales materials in collaboration with the gallery team.
  • Provide administrative support and contribute to marketing efforts as needed.
  • Excellent multi-tasking abilities and capability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced gallery environment
Required Qualifications & Attributes:
  • 1-2 year of working experience in art or culture related business is preferred, sales experience is a strong plus
  • A degree in Art, or a related field is preferred.
  • A passion for art and a confident, outgoing personality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented with a strong sense of initiative.
  • High level of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a small team.
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work weekends and some evenings.

Part-Time, 1-2 days per week
Hours:
Standard business hours. Applicant will occasionally need to work additional hours for events and openings.
