Full Job Description The event designer works with clients from the inception of their idea to the execution of their dream event. S/he embodies our company's values, purpose, and mission while driving sales to meet and exceed their personal sales goals. The designer will work closely with our chefs, staffing manager, and venue teams to ensure a flawless experience for our clients and their guests. They will assist the team as Rocky Mountain Catering grows and help drive the company to become the premier catering company on Colorado's front range. Duties Include but are not limited to: Responsible for creating event designs for clients while following departmental and company policies, procedures, and practices Work within our planning software to create files from start to finish for assigned events Make sure designs satisfy client and requirements, are within budget, and are delivered within the deadline Resolve issues among clients and venues by interfacing with them Become a cohesive and effective team member within the sales department and inspire design by developing a creative and collaborative environment Works hand-in-hand with the kitchen, staffing manager, venue and other venues to ensure and deliver the perfect events. Ensure venue specifications are well understood; maintain specs for floor plan, reflected ceiling plans, and elevations Participate in departmental, planning, and design meetings, as well as in brainstorming sessions Perform review of design elements for effectiveness, and attend portions of your events to ensure the perfect finished product Ensure paperwork, digital design files, and renderings are well-organized and maintained Ensure project status, delivery information is promptly communicated to internal teams and clients Become knowledgeable of company and inventory Be current on new technologies and software, design trends, vendor products, props/design elements, and production techniques Perform all necessary paperwork; ensure consistency and accuracy Perform other work-related tasks that may be requested.
Requirements:
Proven ability to expect and solve problems related to production timeline and creativity Innovative minded individual with strong ability to generate new ideas continually concerning design creation and production techniques Possess a positive attitude with the ability and willingness to work with clients and professionals from other departments of the company Excellent team management skills to work effectively in a team setting and to lead a team if assigned to do so - ability to identify requirements of staff and coordinate team activities Strong ability to handle issues proactively - ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and give a solution Proven work experience in sales and customer service, preferably in the food industry Excellent communication (verbal and written) and time management skills Strong sales skills to be able to sell ideas to clients, management, etc. and to develop productive and mutually benefiting business relationships Strong ability to manage multiple projects together independently Strong computer skills Must be available to work on the weekends, holidays, and overtime Must have reliable ability to commute to our headquarters and venue sites
