In this role, the Manager of Exhibit Maintenance ensures all exhibit assets are safe, clean and operational 98% of the time including traveling exhibits. Essential Functions Produce a detailed schedule that highlights the staffing assignments for exhibit projects and tasks Ensure all pertinent staff documents and training materials are updated as necessary Coordinate training and schedules for exhibit staff and volunteers Accurately document which exhibits are operational, partially operational, off the floor and inoperative on floor Recommend improvements to existing components to decrease M&R incidents to the Director of Facility and Exhibit Maintenance. Perform regular quality control evaluations on exhibit maintenance operations Coordinate with operations team and update exhibits calendar with facility wide events and operational experiences to staff accordingly Coordinate and oversee the safe load-in/load-out of traveling exhibits, on time and on budget Purchase exhibit materials and consumables within budget Assist non-exempt staff as needed to complete (opening, closing, cleaning, etc.) Operate effectively under time constraints and meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision, both alone and in teams Troubleshoot exhibit deficiencies and guide exhibit staff to make appropriate repairs Lead the Maintenance and care of water and plant-based exhibits including chemical management and water chemistry Ensure all audio/visual needs associated with exhibits, live programming, and special events are met. Works to keep these systems operational 98% of the time. Project manager for install and deinstall of "Dino's in Lights" Oversee the safe install of overhead décor and rigging as needed. Oversee the safe transportation of the Tiny Green Home departing and arriving at OSC. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience & Certifications:
3-5 years related experience in Project or Team Management. Preferred Qualifications Must have experience leading teams of contributing partners to complete projects on time and on budget. Must have excellent research, writing and editing skills. Must have excellent interpersonal and networking skills. Demonstrates a considerable degree of initiative. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to effectively operate Auto CAD. Supervisory Responsibility This position is directly responsible for the hiring, training, and development of full-time staff members. Physical Demands Ability to remain in a stationary position. Moves throughout the museum. Ascends/descends stairs throughout the museum. Ascends/descends ladders or other equipment to perform various tasks. Observes and reacts to the needs of guests, staff, volunteers, and community partners. Communicates and exchanges accurate information with guests, staff, volunteers, and community partners in a variety of formats including in-person, electronically, and over the phone. Operates a computer and/or office equipment efficiently and accurately. Manipulates and moves components weighing up to 25 pounds, including those that may be low to the ground or above eye level. Occasionally works in outdoor environments. Frequently works in indoor environments. Coping with demands and stresses associated with job and work environment. Kneeling and Crouching - Frequently Weight Levels Up to 50 pounds Expected Hours of Work & Travel This position is full time and primarily works Tuesday - Saturday. Hours can vary based on the needs of the organization. Travel throughout the Central Florida area may be required to attend conferences/trainings/deliver programs. Travel throughout the Central Florida area will be required to pick up supplies and program materials. Telecommuting This position is required to be onsite 100% of the time.
