POSITION OVERVIEW
The Church Beautification & Event Décor Coordinator is responsible for planning, designing, and executing decorative elements that enhance the church environment for major events, seasonal celebrations, and special gatherings. The goal of this role is to create welcoming, visually meaningful spaces that reflect the spirit and purpose of each event. This role also includes managing and organizing the church's décor inventory, ensuring existing items are properly maintained and utilized before additional purchases are made. Work will be scheduled on an as-needed, contract basis, depending on the church calendar and upcoming events.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, design, and implement decorative setups for church events and seasonal celebrations.
  • Create themed décor that aligns with the nature and tone of each event.
  • Design and install photo backdrops for congregational pictures and event photography.
  • Provide centerpieces and table décor for banquets and special dinners.
  • Assist with table layout and event setup when required.
  • Install and remove decorations before and after events.
  • Ensure décor is aesthetically pleasing, appropriate for a church setting, and safely installed.
  • Coordinate with church leadership regarding design concepts, materials, and timelines.
  • Maintain and properly store reusable decorative items owned by the church.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
  • Take full inventory of all church décor and event-related items.
  • Become familiar with all available decorative items to ensure they are utilized effectively for events.
  • Organize and maintain storage areas so items are easy to locate and reuse.
  • Track and maintain an updated inventory list of all décor items.
  • Identify items that are missing, damaged, or no longer usable.
  • Recommend necessary purchases or replacements when existing inventory cannot meet event needs.
  • Ensure all items are properly returned, stored, and protected after each event.
TYPICAL EVENTS & SEASONAL D
ÉCOR NEEDS Easter
  • Decorate the sanctuary stage prior to Good Friday and Easter services using Easter lilies and other appropriate seasonal elements.
  • Design and install one to two photo backdrop sets for congregational photos. Mother's Day
  • Create one themed photo backdrop for photos. Father's Day
  • Create one themed photo backdrop for photos. Graduation Dinner
  • Design and provide centerpieces.
  • Assist with table setup and arrangement.
  • Create a photo backdrop for pictures. Staff Christmas Party
  • Table setup and arrangement.
  • Design and provide centerpieces.
  • Install festive decorations appropriate for the celebration. Christmas Season (Most Extensive Setup)
  • Install multiple Christmas trees and wreaths throughout the church.
  • Decorate the sanctuary and stage with Christmas-themed décor.
  • Set up multiple nativity scenes throughout the building.
  • Decorate the Fellowship Hall for the season. New Year's Celebration
  • Create multiple decorative displays and photo backdrops in the foyer and designated areas. Valentine's Banquet
  • Provide centerpieces for tables.
  • Create photo backdrops for pictures.
  • Assist with table settings and decorative arrangements.
ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS
  • Maintain flexibility to accommodate additional décor needs for special events.
  • Communicate clearly with church leadership regarding timelines, setup requirements, and materials needed.
  • Ensure all décor is installed and removed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Handle church property and decorative materials with care.
  • Maintain a high standard of excellence and presentation appropriate for a church environment.
COMPENSATION
Compensation will be determined based on the scope of each event or seasonal project and agreed upon in advance.
