Job Description
Audio Mixing Specialist / Audio Post-Production Engineer Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Audio Mixing Specialist to join a fast-paced media production environment focused on delivering high-quality audio experiences across a large volume of content. This role is responsible for ensuring audio mixes meet professional broadcast and streaming standards while preserving the integrity of original creative content. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in dialogue mixing, loudness compliance, and audio post-production workflows, with a strong attention to detail and a passion for audio excellence. Key Responsibilities + Mix, re-record, and finalize audio content for distribution across broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms. + Calibrate sound levels to ensure dialogue, music, sound effects, and background elements are properly balanced and accurately represented. + Maintain compliance with industry-standard audio delivery specifications, including loudness requirements, frequency balance, spatial accuracy, and format standards. + Review and optimize audio assets to ensure consistent quality and listener experience across large content libraries. + Work with dialogue, music, and effects (DME) stems while supporting localization and versioning workflows. + Troubleshoot and address technical audio issues throughout the post-production process. + Collaborate with cross-functional partners to support content delivery, quality initiatives, and workflow improvements. + Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting production schedules and quality expectations. Required Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, Film Production, or equivalent professional experience. + 3+ years of experience in audio mixing, re-recording, audio post-production, or a related discipline. + Expert-level proficiency with Pro Tools. + Working knowledge of Adobe Audition, DaVinci Fairlight, or other professional digital audio workstations. + Strong understanding of professional audio delivery standards, including: + Loudness compliance (e.g., -24 LKFS) + Dialogue intelligibility + Frequency balance + Spatial imaging and accuracy + Stereo, 5.1, and Dolby Atmos delivery formats + Portfolio demonstrating experience with dialogue mixing, DME stem workflows, and broadcast or streaming content delivery. + Fluent English communication skills. + Experience supporting production or localization audio mixing projects. Preferred Qualifications + Experience partnering with product, engineering, localization, or other cross-functional teams. + Proven ability to establish and maintain audio quality standards across high-volume content environments. + Familiarity with AI/ML-powered media tools, voice synthesis technologies, or dubbing production workflows. + Experience preparing and presenting content or recommendations to stakeholders. + Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines. + Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for workflow optimization and audio innovation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Culver City, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
