General Duties and Responsibilities Assumes the responsibility of the assembly, operation and maintenance of technical equipment designed to amplify, enhance, record, mix or reproduce sound for live performances and events. Confer with Technical Director on technical riders and production needs to determine sound requirements, equipment needed and feasibility of plan with available equipment. Confer with production team for each event to ensure the production needs are met to the best of the department's ability. 4Oversee student workers and student sound designers, as needed Maintain department standards for safety Coordinate with stage crew during performance Other related duties as assigned or as necessary Education and Skills Bachelors degree in theater with demonstrated sound technician experience or 4 - 5 years professional expertise as a sound technician Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of sound mixing and advanced sound technologies. Weekend and night work required Must have a valid state driver's license Ability to lift 75 pounds 6Ability and comfort with climbing ladders Ability to interact well with a variety of people from all aspects of the college and community Attention to detail Well-organized, able to work under pressure, plan and accomplish goals No travel Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands Driving Required Yes Salary Range $25.18 Note Connecticut College is committed to fair and competitive compensation.
