Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Sound Mixer to join our creative team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality audio recordings during film, television, commercial, or live event productions. Your expertise in sound recording, mixing, and equipment operation will ensure that every project achieves its auditory vision with clarity and professionalism. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from scripted narratives to live broadcasts, utilizing your technical proficiency and passion for sound design. Duties Operate and manage a variety of audio recording equipment including digital audio workstations (DAWs), audio mixing consoles, and sound reinforcement systems to capture pristine sound quality. Set up, test, and troubleshoot sound recording and playback equipment before and during shoots or live events to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate closely with directors, producers, and other crew members to understand the audio requirements of each project and execute accordingly. Record ambient sounds, dialogue, music, and special effects on location or in studio settings with precision. Mix recorded audio tracks using industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or Avid to achieve the desired soundscape during post-production. Manage signal processing tasks including equalization (EQ), compression, noise reduction, and other sound design techniques to enhance audio quality. Oversee live sound engineering at events or broadcasts by operating audio systems and ensuring seamless sound reinforcement for audiences. Maintain detailed documentation of recordings, equipment logs, and troubleshooting reports to support efficient workflow and future reference. Qualifications Proven experience operating professional recording studio equipment and live sound systems in various production environments. Strong technical proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs), audio mixing consoles, and event AV production tools. Expertise in sound design, music mixing, post-production editing, and signal processing techniques. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues swiftly to minimize downtime during recordings or live events.
