Audio Engineer

Audio Production Lead Responsibility Description One of Heartland's primary mandates is prophetic intercessory worship. This mandate has driven our pursuit of excellence in the area of sound mixing. Overview Provide leadership for the development and training of a team of highly skilled volunteers who are equipped to maintain Heartland's high-quality audio standard. The APL will oversee all audio needs for Heartland events. Primary Responsibilities Continually identify, recruit and equip an army of volunteers and interns to serve Heartland's vision and audio needs. Quality control of Sundays (listen to FoH and give feedback as needed). Create training materials on Heartland specific ways of mixing. Create and run internships for growth in audio volunteers. Update processing chains in FoH scenes. Update processing chains in Pro Tools scene (broadcast). Review and send notes to volunteers from online broadcast mix for continued growth. Help enact and maintain the Creative Production Director's vision for worship through audio systems and processes. Build relationships with volunteers, taking a vested interest in their lives and being a light to them. Maintain church management database pertaining to your role. Edit and upload audio of content from services, podcasts, and other creative environments. Maintain all audio equipment. Must perform monthly back-ups of all audio equipment. Cover all Heartland event audio needs, scheduling volunteers and lining up all necessary equipment. Setup the stage both in Main Sanctuary and Upper Sanctuary as needed for events. Work with the Worship Pastor and Creative Production Director on stage setup. Send equipment off for repair as needed. Order new equipment as needed. Keep all training content organized, relevant, and available to all team members Update and record specific training. Create documents for turning on and off sound systems. Work with lighting and video teams to help create a conducive worship environment. Ensure that services are audio recorded and labeled correctly for easy access. Move files over to Audio NAS weekly both at FoH and Broadcast (Pro Tools). Generate, develop and maintain documentation hub. Organizational Orientation The APL reports to the Creative Production Director. The APL serves the Worship Pastor and Worship Team members. The APL oversees all audio teams. He is responsible for identifying, recruiting, training and scheduling all volunteers under his leadership. Experience (preferred, but not all required) Understanding of, and familiar with implementing Dante Virtual Soundcard Allen & Heath Avantis, Midas M32, and Midas M32R consoles Live Professor Software for live effects for mixing Midas DP48 Personal Monitor Mixers Competent with In Ear Monitor usage Pro Tools software, IT knowledge is a + Understanding of computer routers Mic technique/Mic'ing drums: coaching singers on good technique. Working with pastors and guests on wireless headset technique and application. When asked to mix around 88 - 90db, capable of mixing quiet but still feels full.
