Status:
Temporary, part-time, non-exempt employment on a W-2..Compensation:
This is a non-exempt W2 position (eligible for overtime) with an hourly rate of $20/hour (overtime rate is $30.00/hour). Anticipated 237 regular hours during and 47 overtime hours between July 6 and August 14. More hours possible if needed during prep, tech, and opening. Payments to be remitted in the week following work hours (typically on Thursday/Friday), based on the submission ofpleted timesheets.Location:

A1 Duties /Responsibilities:
The 2026 production ofA Midsummer Night's Dream celebrates our 30th year of sharing Free Shakespeare productions with Greater Boston audiences. The A2 supports the sound for the production by working backstage to ensure body-mics, instrument mics, and all other sound equipment is working properly during all rehearsals and performances.Responsibilities include:
Support the Chief Audio Engineer and Sound Designer throughout the process set up and maintain the sound system, clearm headset system, and backstage page/announce systems Monitor wireless microphones and audio equipment from backstage Assist cast members with application of microphones Assist Chief Audio Engineer with setting up and maintaining backstagemunication systems (Clear-Com headsets and backstage monitors) Work with house staff at the venue to use house equipment and speaker/paging systems Maintain safe and respectful working environmentQualifications:
Qualifications:
Education, training, and/or experience in theatre at a Bachelor's degree or equivalent level 2+ years experience in live or production audio Excellentanizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a teamOnsite Job Requirements:
Attend load in, load out, and all technical rehearsals and performances Ability to lift and carry 50lbs Ability to navigate stairs and uneven terrain Ability to navigate in variable high/low light settings in outdoor conditions. 18+ years of age Experience with and ability to meet all duties and responsibilities as listed aboveSimilar jobs in Boston, MA
