Job Description

Quantum-Systems Inc. is a global leader in aerial intelligence and autonomous, AI-powered aerial robotics. We design, develop, manufacture and deliver eVTOL Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and an ecosystem of related products and services. Our business directly addresses the Defense and Security markets in North America, Asia Pacific and Latin America. We currently have a contractor opening for a well-qualified Engineering Technical Writer supporting existing customer contracts. This position reports directly to the Hardware Engineering Manager. At Quantum-Systems Inc. the engineering Technical Writer specializes in producing engineering reports and documentation to support our customers' requirements. They primarily communicate and coordinate with engineering staff to gather and analyze different forms of data as the basis for writing materials. They may also liaise with clients, identifying the documents that they need, and submitting them to them while adhering to the company's policies and regulations. Furthermore, there are instances when an engineering technical writer must develop presentations and graphs, presenting reports to clients or company officials.
Responsibilities:
The Technical Writer will be responsible for the following: Write the following (but not limited to) documents for core product releases: Release Notes, Program Planning Documents, Installation Documents, User Operation Manuals, Engineering Documents, including: Interface specifications, Conceptual diagrams, Architectural overviews and System diagrams Work closely with engineering staff to understand core product releases Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand what they need to know Manage Document Release Process Meet document deadlines The duties and responsibilities listed in this job description represent the major responsibilities of the position. Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 5+ years of related experience Ability to distill complex concepts from a variety of sources into clear, usable documentation Strong writing skills (grammar, punctuation, form, content, structure, etc.) and attention to detail Strong technical knowledge of Aerospace Systems, preferably with Unmanned Aircraft systems experience Ability, patience, and persistence to elicit documentation requirements from consumers Ability and knowledge to elicit consumable information from developers Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, Agile environment Demonstrated experience simultaneously managing multiple tasks. Proficiency in MS Office (esp. Word, Excel, Visio) Background check/U.S. citizenship required due to government contract requirements Ability to commute to the Moorpark office 5 days a week
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience writing in a regulated industry (e.g., Defense Data Item Descriptions) Experience in an Agile development environment Experience with aerospace and industry specifications/standards is a plus. .
