Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will develop, manage, and maintain clear and user-friendly documentation to support IT systems, applications, and business processes. Based in Rancho Cordova, California, this position collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure high-quality documentation that meets organizational standards and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical specifications, release notes, and knowledge base articles.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather and translate complex technical information into accessible content.
  • Apply and enforce organizational documentation standards, templates, and style guides to ensure consistency and clarity.
  • Organize and manage documentation within systems like SharePoint to improve accessibility and usability.
  • Update and revise documentation as needed to reflect changes in systems, processes, or project requirements.
  • Conduct interviews and working sessions with technical and business teams to capture detailed requirements and updates.
  • Support IT projects by providing documentation throughout the system development lifecycle, including project closeout and knowledge transfer.
  • Train and guide team members on documentation best practices and style consistency.
  • Maintain version control and ensure compliance with governance, security, and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance documentation processes.
