Amentum is seeking a Top‑Secret cleared Technical Writer to join our team in Washington, DC supporting our nation's premier law enforcement agency. This mission‑driven organization leverages agile practices to deliver enhanced reporting, global search capabilities, and improved task management—supporting national intelligence priorities while ensuring the protection of sensitive data, sources, and methods. Successful candidate will be responsible for strategic communications and documentation; develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, user guides, implementation materials, and executive-level communications to support application modernization efforts and technology initiatives.Responsibilities:
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information for both technical and non-technical audiences Support the creation of technical strategies, executive briefings, and technology roadmaps that drive informed decision-making and advance organizational goals Responsible for researching, outlining, writing, and editing new and existing content Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation Work with development and support leads with identifying all documentation repositories, revising, editing, and determining the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that uphold organizational and legal standards, and allow for easy data migration Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation Ensure that documents follow the style laid out in the organization's style guide May also be responsible for maintaining the style guide; suggest revisions to the style guide as appropriateRequired:
ActiveTop-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility Bachelors degree plus 7 years of relevant work experience; experience considered in lieu of degree Experience developing, editing, and producing technical and graphical documentation for information technology systems, to include SDDs Experience working directly with government management to create training materials Experience coordinating communications between various teams supporting applications user community Skilled in planning the structure and organization of technical documentation to ensure it is logical, intuitive, and user-friendly Adept at creating outlines, templates, and style guides to maintain consistency and coherence across documentation sets Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, product managers, and quality assurance engineers, to ensure that documentation meets the needs of all stakeholdersPreferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting Agile software development teams using Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, or other Agile methodologies. Experience supporting Federal Government, Department of Defense (DoD), or other regulated environments. Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevSecOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience documenting technical roadmaps, modernization initiatives, cloud migration efforts, and enterprise architecture solutions. Experience supporting large-scale data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), or digital transformation programs.Work Schedule:
Typically, Monday through Friday 8-hour days onsite; flexibility within a 2-week pay period to reach 80 hours #INDTech Pay:
