Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Providing writing, copy editing, and plainlanguage review of all change communications and IT policy documentation (approximately 2 per week). Writing IT policies, standard operating procedures, IT implementation memos and guidance, portfolio briefings, and correspondence for internal and external distribution. Performing executive writing, copy editing, and plainlanguage reviews for change communications, IT policy, and IT portfolio documentation. Maintaining governance documentation, including process documentation and training materials and drafting and revising IT governance policies supporting oversight of the IT portfolio. Performing process review, documentation review, documentation updates, drafting of new documentation, and finalization of documentation while providing processimprovement recommendations based on best practices. Maintaining the governance documentation repository. Maintaining and publishing the IT business glossary a unified catalog of terms and acronyms defining shared IT portfolio management vocabulary. Developing and updating implementation instructions and templates supporting the portfolio and financial management office and its IT portfolio activities. Documenting IT financial management and vendor management business processes. Reviewing and assisting in updating IT governance and portfolio documents and developing, updating, and publishing portfolio documents as directed by the COR. Providing content support for portfolio documentation, briefings, and the program website/SharePoint sites. Supporting preparation of OMB IT portfolio briefings and reports, white papers, and supporting documentation for IT leadership. Ensuring all written deliverables are Section 508compliant and managed in accordance with federal records management requirements. Providing reporting in multiple forms (Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, e.g., Google Slides and Google Sheets). Performing other duties as assigned by the COR. Performing additional duties as assigned in support of evolving contract requirements and client needs. Understanding the organizational policies and procedures for accuracy of solutions and deliverables to the client. Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Bachelor's degreeMINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Five or more years of experience writing, reviewing, editing, and creating written materials, including two or more years in an IT setting Ability to research, write, and edit reports, manuals, briefs, instructional materials, and technical documentation; obtain technical content from staff and existing documentation; revise text and recommend changes in scope, format, and content to meet established standards; and perform final quality assurance Demonstrated expertise in the SOW's writing/documentation tasks: writing, copy editing, and plainlanguage review of IT policy and change communications (approx. 2 reviews per week); drafting IT governance policies, SOPs, implementation memos/guidance, process documentation, and training materials; glossary and documentation repository maintenance Must have the ability to obtain the client's suitability and meet federal background investigation requirements A proficiency in utilizing MS Office products Proven familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and responsible use of AIassisted tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills A highly motivated selfstarter Must be motivated and have excellent customer service skillsDESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience writing IT policy, SOPs, or governance documentation for a federal CIO organization Familiarity with federal plainlanguage guidelines and federal IT portfolio management/CPIC vocabulary Section 508 document remediation experience (Word, PowerPoint, PDF, Google Docs) SharePoint content management and documentation repository/versioncontrol experience Experience developing training materials and templates Technical communication certification (e.g., STC CPTC) or plainlanguage trainingEOE Statement:
