About the
Role:
The Technical Writer/Editor Level I plays a crucial role in creating clear, concise, and accurate documentation that supports the organization's products and services within the Other Services industry. This position is responsible for transforming complex technical information into user-friendly content that meets the needs of diverse audiences. The role involves collaborating closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and product managers to gather information and ensure technical accuracy. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining and improving documentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality across all materials. Ultimately, this position supports the organization's mission by enhancing user understanding and satisfaction through effective communication.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Journalism, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic understanding of technical concepts and ability to learn new technologies quickly. Proficiency with common documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, or similar. Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with content management systems (CMS) and version control tools. Familiarity with graphic design or multimedia editing software. Previous experience in a technical writing or editing role within the services industry. Knowledge of HTML, XML, or other markup languages. Certification in technical writing or related professional development courses.
Responsibilities:
Develop, write, and edit technical documents including manuals, user guides, FAQs, and online help content. Collaborate with engineers, developers, and other stakeholders to gather and verify technical information. Review and revise existing documentation to improve clarity, accuracy, and usability. Ensure all documentation complies with company style guides and industry standards. Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
Skills:
The required skills enable the Technical Writer/Editor to effectively gather, organize, and present complex information in a clear and accessible manner. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with technical teams and ensuring accuracy in documentation. Proficiency with documentation tools allows for efficient creation and editing of materials, while attention to detail ensures high-quality outputs. Preferred skills such as familiarity with CMS and markup languages enhance the ability to manage and publish content in various formats.
