Job Description
SOLIDWORKS
User Assistance team. The team's mission is "to design, develop, and continuously improve user assistance content that is thorough, accurate, engaging, easy-to-find, and relevant so that users can onboard quickly and do their work effectively." The team documents all SOLIDWORKS-branded CAD and related apps, includingSOLIDWORKS
Design, DraftSight, xDesign, and many others. Under the supervision of the User Assistance Development Director, senior managers, and other members of the team, you will:- Learn the core principles and techniques of modern technical writing within a fast-paced, global, best-in-class writing team
- Learn how to use
SOLIDWORKS
apps and the User Assistance team's content creation and management tools- Develop new content and incorporate new content written by others into existing documents
- Review and modify both existing user assistance content and new content developed by the team to improve its quality and impact
- Contribute to the team's current goal of expanding the visual content (images, animations, videos) in our documentation
- Contribute to the team's efforts to improve its efficiency and productivity, including but not limited to the adoption of AI/LLM tools in appropriate parts of workflows
- Bring a fresh perspective to our team and offer ideas for changing what we create and how we work
