Job Description
Responsibilities:
The Technical Writer/Editor will support Barrow Wise's State of Maryland Department of General Services (DGS) project and perform the following duties:- Assist in collecting and organizing information to prepare user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.
- Edit functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables or documents.
- Conduct research and ensure the use of proper technical terminology.
- Translate technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and nontechnical personnel.
- Use the standard help compiler to prepare all online documentation (for applications built to run in a Windows environment).
- Assist in performing financial and administrative functions. An ideal candidate has the following:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in this area and must demonstrate the ability to work independently or under only general direction.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in preparing and editing documents, including technical documents.
- Conduct research for applicable standards.
